There is a lot of information available about sexual health, especially on the internet, but not all of it's accurate. If you want to learn more about sexual health or have a concern, the NHS and partner organisations are here to help with accurate, up-to-date advice.
Various clinics and health professionals offer confidential information about sex, safer sex, contraception, pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). You can talk to:
- your GP or nurse
- your midwife or health visitor
- a community contraceptive clinic
- a sexual health or genitourinary medicine (GUM) clinic
- a pharmacist
People under 25 can also talk to a young person’s service, such as Brook.
The NHS Choices website also has a wealth of up-to-date, accurate information about sexual health including a sexual health services finder, contraception information, STI info and advice for young people.
'Your guides', available to download to the right, contain information about sexual health services near you.
